![]() ![]() I was made a Freeman of Lichfield through The Worshipful Company of Smiths (established 1601). Under the name Idustrial Revolution, I have written and sold plugins for Final Cut Pro for 13 years. I have also worked as a broadcast and corporate editor for over 30 years, starting on one inch tape, working through many formats, right up to today's NLEs. I am the Editor-in-Chief of FCP.co and have run the website since its inception ten years ago. So we went on the hunt for a good X2Pro tutorial from an expert and quite quickly discovered a great tutorial from the Pro Tools Expert! The video was published over a year ago, but it shows X2Pro in action from an audio guy's perspective. Our experience of Avid's Pro Tools is limited, we have sat on the comfy sofa at the back of a few audio sessions whilst an engineer has tweaked away on our project's sound. The winners will be picked at random from the tweets from now until Friday night, so get tweeting! ![]() The easiest way to do this is from the tweet button on the top left of the article. To have a chance of winning one of the 10 apps each worth $149.99 or $59.99, all you have to do is tweet the title of this story and include in the tweet. On to our promotion and we are very happy that Marquis Broadcast has very kindly given us 5 licences of X2Pro and 5 licences of X2ProLE to giveaway.Ĭongratulations to the 10 winners. This competition is now closed. Handling video files is of course different, but the future possibility is there. One thing that struck us about the app is the fact that as unused audio media can be trimmed, Marquis are not too far away from having the tools to build an 'FCP7 style' media manager. X2ProLE Audio Convert is available on the Mac App Store at £39.99/$59.99. X2Pro Audio Convert for professional users is available on the Mac App Store at £99.99/$149.99. X2ProLE users can upgrade to the full Pro version with an In App Purchase. ![]() There are two version available. X2ProLE is a lower cost version for those who do not need audio files referenced, media trimmed, or the close control of the conversion of Roles. There's also new functionality which enables X2Pro to remember the state of roles (which roles are excluded and their order) between sessions. This will be big news amongst filmmakers as it will now for the first time allow media from Red cameras to be exported from FCPX to Pro Tools for audio finishing.Īn additional feature in the latest version of X2Pro is the provision for muted clips in FCPX to be either muted or excluded from the AAF file via an option in X2Pro's Preferences. R3D is a proprietary multimedia audio/video file format owned by the Red Digital Cinema Camera Company and features lossy compression for video contents and lossless for audio contents. Marquis Broadcast has released an update to X2Pro so that the app now supports REDCODE RAW (R3D). It's also our biggest ever giveaway raffle with products totalling over $1,000 up for grabs. ![]() We were going to run this giveaway last week on July the 4th when the update was announced, but we thought it would be better to delay it until this Monday so that everyone would be back in the office or edit suite. We have 5 copies of X2Pro Audio Convert and 5 copies of X2ProLE Audio Convert to giveaway. Marquis Broadcast has just released updates to the X2Pro Audio Convert applications that deliver audio content from Final Cut Pro X into ProTools. ![]()
